There comes that awkward time when you and your siblings are in your twenties but you don’t have kids of your own. Most family orientated games are more like kids games anymore than they being meant for the whole family. So what can a group of adults play that isn’t geared for the under twelve crowd?

I have always thought family and guns go together so well. Especially around the holidays after your brothers or sisters have had a few too many and are now confessing your sins while leaving theirs untouched. Call of Duty: Black Ops is great to vent these frustrations while being adult orientated and easy to catch up on. This might be the only legal way to be able to shoot your family members when you really want to.

Punch Out! Series is seen by many as kids games but in fact it is rated T and can e more fun with older people than younger. There is a certain difficulty curb that one has to figure out while playing it so you might want to put new comers against new comers before letting them play more experienced gamers. This game is also relatively cheap and great for family tournaments.

Gran Tourismo is great for racing and car enthusiast. This game has a high difficulty curve but many members of the family will love the unique racing experience it offers with the wide variety of cars to choose from. This game may seem to be a little much for those who don’t game often but it is made easy with the six axis controller. The other issue you have to look at is the time you will need to unlock the coolest cars before you’re able to play with the family.

Wii Sports is great for all age ranges and players of all abilities. This is not geared to anyone audience but everyone. There are multiples in this series so that you can find something for everyone. What you have to be mindful of is if you have anyone in your family with a physical disability. If you do then this might not be the best option for you.

Trying to find that great game for grownups is like finding a four leaf clover. Everything has to come together so that you can produce the best experience for everyone. The biggest thing to always remember though is that the purpose of this is fun.
